During the discovery session with the client, she wanted a rebrand for her current business which was the making and selling of candles. She wanted packaging that could keep her candles safe but also showcase her brand in a new light. When designing the packaging, I knew there should be a lid of some kind to keep the top of the candles safe but the client also put decorations on top of the candles such as lavender or rosemary to make them more visually appealing. I didn’t want to hide that beautiful detail, so I came up with the solution of having a peekaboo window on the sides for the customers to see that detailing but keep the candle itself safe. The center of the box would have a circular middle to keep the candle away from the edges and prevent breaking during transportation. Due to the unique style of the design, I created the mockup in adobe dimensions to really give the client a sense of what the product would look like as well as creating a real life mockup so she could physically hold it. I also developed labels, business cards, instructions and a brand guide that fit the design of the brand.
